UCF Tennis Teams Open C-USA Championships Thursday

Both the men's and women's programs take on East Carolina.

• Earned singles wins against ranked teams No. 55 Miami, No. 68 Georgia State, and No. 64 Buffalo
• Defeated Gabriel Flores of Miami at number one singles, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4
• Came from behind to win 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 against Thomas Cooke of Georgia State
• Also came from behind in a 2-6, 6-0, 6-3 win over Damien David of Buffalo
• Teaming with Aulina, won in doubles against No. 55 Miami, No. 68 Georgia State, and No. 64 Buffalo

• Registered a team-best 17-11 overall record
• Recorded a 12-7 record during singles action

• Handled Quoc-Daniel Nguyen of (3/20) No. 33 Cornell, 6-1, 6-1 in less than an hour of play
• Claimed a 7-5, 7-6 victory over USF's (4/14) Federico Sabogal at the No. 3 slot
• At the C-USA Championship (4/18), was a 6-3, 6-3 winner over ECU's Damien Brenard
• Posted a 5-4 singles record during fall play, going 1-1 in doubles action
• Defeated Georgia Tech's Anish Sharma 6-4, 6-4 at the USTA Clay Court Invitational
• Advanced to the Flight B semifinals at the C.L. Varner Memorial Invitational by beating Florida Tech's Barry Dylewski 6-1, 6-2 and Flagler's Inigo Landalce 6-1, 6-4
• Won 6-3, 6-4 versus Henrique Tsukamoto of Miami and 7-6, 6-7, 10-7 against FAU's Chris Janssen at the FGCU Fall Invitational
• Along with Juan Bolona, defeated FAU's Richard Meade and Robert Dubuque 9-8 at the FGCU Fall Invite

• Competed in nine singles contests during the spring, claiming four victories
• Went 3-1 at the No. 5 position
• Against Conner Sherwood of No. 41 Wake Forest, picked up a 4-6, 7-6, 1-0 (10-7) win
• At Oral Roberts, topped Matthew Prevost, 6-0, 6-0
• Posted an overall 12-7 doubles mark
• Went 8-2 with Juan Bolona, including a 6-2 mark at No. 3
• Joined Bolona for an 8-4 victory over Leon Nasemann and Johnny Grimal of No. 32 Memphis
• Along with Bolona, rolled to an 8-1 win over No. 36 Miami's Marco Stancati and Victor Mauz
• Claimed five singles victories during tournament play in the fall
• In doubles competition, went 3-2 with Francesc Aulina

• Defeated Jamie Eccleton of Troy at No. 5 singles 7-5, 6-3

• Won the championship final in his bracket at the C.L. Varner Memorial Invitational over Simon Raagaard of Barry University. Won four singles matches at the tournament overall.
• Also paired up with Leonel Vivas to win the doubles championship final in their bracket at the C.L Varner Memorial. The duo won three doubles matches at the tournament overall.
• Won the championship final in his bracket at the UCF Invitational over Oliver Webb of FAU. Won three singles matches at the tournament overall.
• Joined Mario Samson to take down teammates Matthew Zachary and Erik Brunskog in the Black Draw doubles championship at the UCF Invitational 9-7
• Won eight singles matches overall in his first collegiate fall season
