FORT MYERS, Fla. ( - Reece Acree and Chris Barrus made sure that UCF finished its fall campaign on a positive note. On Sunday, the freshmen took the green division doubles title at the FGCU Fall Invitational.

The Knights fought for a 9-8 (7-5) win over Miami's William Albanese and Jack Murphy.

"I am incredibly proud of Reece and Chris," UCF head coach Bobby Cashman said. "This was a hard-fought match against a great team. It was great tennis. They are great doubles players and work so well together."

The pair won three total matches at the event, which began Friday.

UCF will return to action in early January, when it preps for its spring season by hosting the UCF Quad Tournament. The Knights will open their dual-match season on Jan. 19 against visiting Miami.
