ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - On Tuesday, UCF senior Brock Sakey (Gulf Breeze, Fla.) was named the Conference USA Men's Tennis Player of the Week. This past weekend, Sakey went undefeated in singles and doubles play in the Knights' two contests.

He helped UCF post a 4-3 win at Florida Atlantic, topping Joshua Scholl, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 4. Sakey teamed with sophomore Claudio Romano (Valencia, Venezuela) to register an 8-2 victory at No. 3 doubles versus the Owls.

After defeating Florida Atlantic, Sakey and the Knights nearly upset No. 31 Miami on the road before falling 4-3. Sakey gave UCF its first point against the Hurricanes, knocking off Waylon Chin (6-4, 6-1) at No. 4. Sakey and Romano started the day with an 8-5 triumph at the No. 3 doubles spot.

The player of the week honor was the first of Sakey's career.

Since the spring season began in January, Sakey is 4-1 in singles action.

UCF will return to action Friday at North Florida. The squad is slated to host Florida A&M Sunday at the UCF Tennis Complex.
