ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's tennis team will travel to California for a spring-break trip to compete against No. 36 San Diego State Tuesday and UC-Irvine Wednesday.

Tuesday, the Knights will be in San Diego for a 5 p.m. match at the Aztec Tennis Center. Following the contest, UCF will bus to Irvine for a 4 p.m. match at the UC-Irvine Tennis Center.

The Knights roll into California boasting a 6-5 record after dropping a 6-1 road contest against previously ranked North Florida.

"The team needs to learn how to bounce back after a tough road loss." UCF head coach Bobby Cashmansaid. "Our goal in California is to start fast and continue aggressive play throughout the match."

The No. 36 Aztecs (8-4) had won four matches in a row - against Hawaii, Pacific, No. 39 Boise State and No. 16 California - before dropping their last home contest, 4-0, versus No. 12 Pepperdine. San Diego State topped UCF 5-2, the only time the two faced each other in 2001.

UCF's second foe on the trip, UC-Irvine, has struggled this season with a 2-9 record. The Anteaters have lost two matches in a row, 7-0 at Saint Mary's and 4-3 at Santa Clara. UCF is 1-2 all-time against UC-Irvine, last defeating the Anteaters, 5-2, at the UCF Tennis Complex in 2004.

This marks the last two road contests for UCF before the Conference USA Championship. The Knights will return home for 11-straight matches at the UCF Tennis Complex.
