ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The no. 60 UCF men’s tennis team will head to Tampa to take on no. 29 USF in its first match against an American Athletic Conference opponent on Friday. The Knights and the Bulls are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts.
Following a 10-3 start to the 2014 campaign, UCF has lost two in a row, falling to UNC Wilmington and Yale at the “Bash at the Beach” last weekend. The Knights will look to perform well against the highly ranked Bulls before returning home for a trio of matches in Orlando in early April.
Redshirt-junior Francesc Aulina has won his last six singles matches for the Knights. Playing at the number two and three positions, Aulina hasn’t dropped a set in singles play since falling to Tulane’s Sebastian Rey in three sets back on March 7.
USF welcomes the Knights to Tampa ranked 29th in the nation in the most recent release by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. The Bulls are 11-4 overall and have won six of their last seven matches. USF has yet to lose at home, holding a record of 8-0 in Tampa.
Friday’s action is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
