ORLANDO, Fla. ( - The new 100-plus court USTA tennis center that will be built in Lake Nona will greatly benefit both the UCF men’s and women’s tennis programs.

Scheduled to be completed in 2016, the USTA tennis center is where the Knights will play all of their home matches. The collegiate tennis area will feature 12 hard courts with seating for 1,200 fans.

“I feel that tennis can be a major player at UCF and we can be one of the sports that’s nationally ranked and via for championships,” said UCF men’s tennis head coach Bobby Cashman. “Anytime you have a big facility that’s going to have national exposure and the best players in the US will be training there that just opens up so many opportunities for UCF.”

“It’s going to be a huge help with everything,” said UCF women’s tennis head coach Stephanie Nickitas. “Just the ability to say we have this awesome facility right in our backyard and to be able to work in conjunction with USTA the impact isn’t even measurable.”
