Ali Roberts recorded her fifth career double-double with 11 rebounds and 18 points while also surpassing 500 rebounds to lead UCF over visiting Florida Atlantic, 49-41. The Golden Knights improved to 4-6 on the season and 2-1 in the Atlantic Sun while the Lady Owls fell to 2-8 overall and 0-3 in the conference.
Roberts currently has 507 boards throughout her three and a half seasons as a Knight. Shelby Weber and Takira Allen were also in double-digits in the rebound department grabbing 11 and 10 respectively.
Roberts was 6-for-12 from the field and 6-for-8 from the charity strip to net her 18 points. Francine Houston was second on the team in points with eight.
UCF and FAU went into halftime with the Knights up 23-18 after the Knights were down by as many as seven three times. UCF took the lead with 1:59 left in the half after out scoring the Lady Owls 12-4 from the 12:25 mark to the 1:59 mark. During the first half, Roberts had only grabbed four of her 11 rebounds and netted six of her 18 points.
The Lady Owls were led by Missy Glaser who netted 11 points while playing in 30 minutes of action. Jackie Brown who had 10 points of her own followed Glaser closely. DeKesh Frazier led FAU in rebounds with six boards.
The Knights return to action on Saturday, January 8 when they host Troy at 2 p.m. Tickets for Saturday's game are still available. Adults are $5.
