ORLANDO, Fla. - Shelby Weber led UCF with 14 points as the Knights defeated Troy 55-43. UCF improved to 5-6 on the season and 3-1 in the Atlantic Sun while the Trojans fell to 2-9 on the season and 1-3 in the A-Sun.

Weber was 7-of-11 from the field with three rebounds, three blocks and one steal in 26 minutes of play. Ali Roberts was second on the team in points with 11 and tied for the most rebounds with Celeste Hudson with eight a piece.

LaShay King returned to the court after rehabbing from injury to play 11 minutes with two points and two assists.

Head Coach Gail Striegler used the fifth different starting line-up of the season with Weber, Roberts, Hudson, Francine Houston and Lashaunda Slade.

In the first 20 minutes of action, the Knights came out scoring first in less than a minute from tip-off. The Black and Gold took a nine point lead into the intermission after out scoring Troy 7-2 in the last five minutes of the half to make the score 27-18.

Laura Lee Holman who had 16 points led Troy. Audrey Muse and Alecia Jones were second on the team with eight points with Muse leading the team in rebounds with 11.

UCF will return to action on Thursday, January 13 when they travel to Buies Creek, N.C. to take on the Campbell Camels and then Gardner-Webb on Saturday in Boiling Springs, N.C. The Knights will return home to face Mercer on Thursday, January 20 in game one of a double header with the men's team. Tickets for the Mercer game are still available. Adults are $5. Youth age 17 and under and seniors age 55 and older pay $3. Children under five and UCF students with a valid UCF student I.D. are admitted free.
