ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The UCF women's basketball team is back on its home court this Wednesday at 7 p.m. when the American Athletic Conference's other Knights roll into town.

Rutgers (13-4, 4-2 The American) is the sixth opponent this year that UCF (8-9, 1-5) has met for the first time in program history. The matchup will broadcast on the American Digital Network, which fans can access free of charge through a multitude of platforms including desktop, mobile and tablet.

UCF assistant coach Courtney Locke is very familiar with the opponent as she suited up for the Scarlet Knights from 2002-06. During her four years as a letterwinner, Rutgers advanced to four NCAA Tournaments, including berths to the Elite Eight (2005) and Sweet 16 (2006).

Both head coaches have a history with Team USA basketball. Joi Williams, who is currently serving a four-year term with the USA Junior National Team Committee, won gold medals as an assistant coach with the 2010 U-18 national team at the FIBA Americas Championship and the 2011 U-19 national team at the World Championship.

Longtime Rutgers head coach Vivian Stringer served as the head coach of the Team USA squad that won silver at the World University Games in 1985.

Rutgers comes to Orlando after recording back-to-back losses to Memphis and No. 1 UConn last week. Tyler Scaife was named Freshman of the Week for the second-straight time on Monday after recording consecutive 20+ point games for the Scarlet Knights.

Kahleah Copper leads the team in scoring with 16.8 points per game, which ranks sixth in The American, and ranks first in the conference for field goal percentage (.595). Betnijah Laney averages a double-double with 13 points and 10.3 rebounds per game.

Season tickets, mini-plans and group packages are still available by calling (407) UCF-1000 or visiting UCFKnights.com.
