ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - After a short stay at home, the UCF women's basketball team is headed north to Cincinnati for a first-ever meeting with the Bearcats on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Cincinnati (8-10, 1-6 The American) is the seventh opponent this year and second in a row that UCF (8-10, 1-6) has met for the first time in program history. Both the Knights and the Bearcats have notched their lone conference wins against Houston in Texas.
UCF senior Sara Djassi has averaged 15.6 points per game over the last five outings, notching double digits in all but the Knights' matchup against rival USF. The stretch includes a career-high 28 points at No. 5 Louisville -- the most the Cardinals have allowed this season.
Cincinnati is coming off back-to-back losses to USF and Temple. Dayeesha Hollins leads the team in scoring with 13.3 points per game, which ranks 10th among the American's leading scorers.
Jeanise Randolph is a force for the Bearcats, averaging 12 points and a team-high 9.1 rebounds per game. She, along with UCF's Brittni Montgomery, ranks among the league's top five rebounders.
