ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - When the UCF women's basketball team squares up against Temple on Saturday at 4 p.m., the game will be particularly momentous for two Knights.
Guard Sara Djassi and forward Erika Jones will suit up for their final appearances at CFE Arena on Senior Knight. The pair will be recognized in a special ceremony following the game's conclusion.
As the pair prepared for Saturday's matchup, they took time to reflect on their time spent representing the Black and Gold.
What has been your best basketball memory at UCF?
Jones: My best basketball memory would be winning my first championship my freshman year.
Djassi: How exciting it was to compete in the title game in conference tournament because no one thought we could get that far.
What is the biggest lesson you've learned here, both on and off the court?
Jones: The biggest lesson I've learned since being at UCF is to take advantage of life's opportunities because nothing is promised.
Djassi: Outside of basketball, I learned how important it is to give back to community instead of thinking about yourself first. And on the court, getting to know players better in order to build a better chemistry in the group.
What will you always remember about the time you spent here?
Jones: I will always remember my UCF family, from the coaches to my many teammates, who have all taught me individual lessons whether they tried to or not.
Djassi: The conditioning test (laughs) and the great people that I am surrounded by (coach/players). Every time I needed something, they were always there to help me.
