UCF Summer Notebook

• After eight years in Conference USA, UCF is on the move to the American Athletic Conference
• In the American, the Knights will compete in one of the premier leagues in the nation
• Two league squads met in the national championship game this past spring, with UConn defeating Louisville for the title
• Three programs from The American participated in the 2013 NCAA Tournament, as USF also earned a bid
• The American will serve as the UCF women's basketball program's sixth league since moving to the Division I level in 1984

• The Knights return only five letterwinners from a year ago, but four of the returnees are starters
• UCF returns 60.4 percent of its scoring from last year and three of its top-four scorers: Briahanna Jackson (15.7 ppg/2nd), Erika Jones (8.6 ppg/3rd) and Sara Djassi (7.2 ppg/4th)

• UCF concluded 2012-13 playing its best basketball of the season as the Knights won three contests to advance to the Conference USA Championship title game
• After entering the tournament as the No. 8 seed, the Knights posted an opening round win over Houston and then showed no fear against top-seed SMU
• The Knights became only the third No. 8 seed in C-USA history to advance to the semifinals after overcoming a 10-point deficit to pull off a 70-66 victory over the Mustangs
• UCF then knocked off No. 5 UTEP before almost topping tournament host Tulsa in the final game

• A huge group of newcomers will make their debuts for the Knights in 2013-14
• The group of seven includes Brittni Montgomery, who sat out last year after transferring from Virginia Tech
• Three transfers - Makenzi Reasor, Yanique Gordon and Rosinha Rosario - are expected to contribute up front this season
• Three freshman guards, Aneesa Watson, Jordan Jackson and Zykira Lewis, will make their collegiate debuts this year

Entering 2013-14:
• UCF's leading returning scorer from a year ago
• A dynamic guard who knows how to score
• Can get to the basket and also connect from 3-point range
• Gained valuable experience and confidence in May at the USA Basketball World University Games Trials in Colorado Springs, Colo.
