ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The UCF women's basketball team is back on the road this week, making its first stop at Georgia State on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
The Knights are off to their best start (3-0) in 16 years and hope to keep it rolling at the GSU Sports Arena against their former Atlantic Sun foes.
The programs have a long-standing relationship as the Panthers lead the overall series, 30-12. The teams first met on Feb. 2, 1981, and UCF holds a 6-10 record at Georgia State.
The game will be a homecoming for UCF freshman guard Aneesa Watson, who grew up less than 30 miles south of Atlanta. The Fayette County native was named to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Class 4A All-State honorable mention list her senior year.
Georgia State will suit up for its first home game of the year still looking for its first win after starting off 0-3. Junior guard Kayla Nolan paces the Panthers in scoring with 12.3 points per game while junior center Brittany Logan averages a team-high 6.5 rebounds per game.
There are 15 home games on UCF's slate in 2013-14, including contests against national champion UConn and national runner-up Louisville during league play. Season tickets, which start at only $30 for adults and $15 for kids, are available today by calling (407) UCF-1000 or by visiting UCFKnights.com.
