ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF women's basketball team returns to UCF Arena Wednesday for its first home game in two weeks when the Knights take on Charlotte at 7 p.m.
Exciting giveaways are scheduled for the game, which pits the two programs against each other for the first time in 17 years. UCF students will have a chance to win a free iPad, and all spectators are eligible to enter a raffle for Blue Man Group tickets.
Students can enter a drawing for the iPad at a table on the concourse of the student section. The Blue Man Group ticket raffle signup will be in the lobby of UCF Arena.
The Knights (2-5) are coming off their first win against an SEC team in program history with their victory over Mississippi State in their final game of the Hardwood Tournament of Hope in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Two members of UCF's team hail from the Tar Heel State as sophomore Stephanie Taylor attended high school 20 miles outside of Charlotte, and junior Kiana Morton grew up near Durham.
Charlotte (3-1) has competed in 10-straight postseasons, including eight WNIT berths and two NCAA bids. Amanda Dowe paces the team in scoring with an average of 15.8 per game, but senior Jennifer Hailey is a threat as well, as she reached the 1,000-point milestone this year and ranks among the top-20 scorers in school history.
Season tickets, which start at only $30, are currently available by calling (407) UCF-1000 or by visiting UCFAthletics.com.
