BATON ROUGE, La. (UCFKnights.com) - Paced by Ashley Holder's 1-over 73, the No. 16-ranked Knights sit in fifth place after one round at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic, being played at the University Club of Baton Rouge.
The tournament is being led by No. 62 Purdue, which put together a 9-over 297 in the first day of action. SMU, ranked No. 47 is in second at +11, while No. 4 Arkansas and No. 29 Kentucky are tied for third at 14-over. UCF is just six strokes off the pace in the 15-team event.
At +1, Holder is just two strokes off the pace set by Purdue's Aurora Kan, who was the only golfer to turn in a score better than par.
Kaitlyn Price is tied for 17th at 4-over. Meanwhile, Kristine Odaiyar and Monifa Sealy are each 5-over and tied for 28th, rounding out UCF's first-round scoring. Fanny Cnops is tied for 41st at +7.
With inclement weather in the forecast for Sunday, the tournament will conclude with 36 holes on Saturday.
