ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – The No. 17 UCF Women’s golf team will wrap up regular season play next week as they compete in the Web.com Invitational at the Marsh Landing Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. The 5,967 yard par 72 track will test the player’s endurance with 36-holes on Monday and the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
UCF has finished in the top five or better in their previous eight tournaments this season, including back to back wins at the Florida Shootout and the UCF Challenge. UCF Junior Fanny Cnops and Freshman Ashley Holder have both taken medalist honors once each this season. Either Cnops or Holder has also finished in the top three at each of the last five tournaments.
The Knights are looking to finish the season strong and will get a glimpse at top conference opponent No. 38 Louisville as they prepare for the conference championships.
“We have a good pairing with Louisville, Ohio State and Florida State for the 36 holes on Monday,” UCF head coach Emily Marron said. “Louisville is our strongest competition in the American Conference, so it will be nice to see how we match up with them. We have been playing solid all spring and we want to end the regular season on a high note”
The starting five for the Knights will include Ashley Holder, Fanny Cnops, Monifa Sealy, Kristine Odaiyar and Kaitlyn Price.
