Knights 4th in Ponte Vedra Beach

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. ( - The first two rounds of the Invitational kicked off Monday morning at the Marsh Landing Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. The No. 17 UCF Women's golf team battled 18 other teams including No. 24 Ohio State, conference opponent No. 38 Louisville and current tournament leader No. 35 Florida State.

Led by Junior Monifa Sealy's opening round 69 (-3) and Junior Fanny Cnops' second round 68 (-4). Sealy birdied four of her first nine holes including three in a row on the fourth, fifth and sixth holes in her opening round. After a lack luster start, Cnops was able to battle back climbing 24 spots in the second round to finish the day tied for tenth. 

The Knights held steady through two rounds and are currently tied for fourth place with Minnesota. Florida State holds a seven shot lead over East Carolina and Chattanooga stands alone in third place.
