PALM COAST, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The second round of the American Athletic Conference Championship on the Hammock Beach Ocean Course offered no relief as players again contended with a cold, steady 10-15 mph Monday.

Once again, the Knights prevailed over the wind and the field. UCF will take a four-stroke lead into Tuesday's final round.

Just as she did in the opening round, UCF freshman Ashley Holder led the Knights shooting a 74 (+2), giving her sole possession of second place at 6-over par for the tournament. UCF junior Monifa Sealy, after carding a second-round score of 75 (+3), moved up the leaderboard and is now tied for third overall.

UCF head coach Emily Marron was proud of the way the team hung in there and played well enough to maintain its lead under tough conditions. All five UCF players are currently in the top 20 amongst individuals. Coach Marron said that the team is excited to be in position to win and expects to play well in the final round.

The inaugural American Athletic Conference Champion will be crowned Tuesday, with the final round scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.
