COMPLETE RESULTS

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Freshman Valentina Fontaine (Santiago, Chile) fired her third consecutive under-par round today to place second individually and help lift the UCF women's golf team to a third-place finish at the FIU Pat Bradley Invitational at the par-72 Pelican Preserve Golf and Country Club in Fort Myers. It also marked the third straight event in which UCF has had two finishers in the top 10 as junior Katie Detlefsen (Eagan, Minn.) tied for eighth overall.

UCF shot a final round 299 on Tuesday to finish in third place with a three-round count of 879 (+15). Furman won the event at 870 (+6) while South Florida took second with an 877 (+13).

Fontaine fired a 71 today, tying for the second-lowest round of any golfer in the field. Coupled with the 69 and 71 that she shot on Monday, Fontaine finished with a 211 (-5) and was looking up at only Shena Yang of USF's 208 (-8). Fontaine was UCF's best finisher in three of the four events that the team played this fall. These are her first three under-par rounds as a Knight. Her first round score of 69 made her one of just four golfers in the field of 81 to card a score in the 60s in any of the event's three rounds.

Detlefsen shot a 74 today after posting a pair of even-par rounds of 72 on a long hot Monday in Fort Myers. Her 218 (+2) overall left her in a tie for eighth place with three golfers from host Florida International.

Sophomore Elisa Aoki (Bradenton, Fla.) capped her fall season with a Top 20 finish. Her final round 77 today gave her a 54-hole score of 223 (+7) and a share of the 20th position. Senior Victoria Tomko (Lontzen, Belgium) was fourth amongst the Knights with a 227 (+11). Freshman Carolin Pinegger (Marquartstein, Germany) carded a 234 (+18), capping her first semester of collegiate competition with a 77 today, her best score in the event's three rounds. Competing as an individual, freshman Sammy Vass (Tain, Scotland) recorded a 236 (+20) in Fort Myers.
