LONGWOOD, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) -- Today was a great day to play golf. The temperature was nice and there was a little breeze. My tee time was at 2.10 p.m., so I had a lot of time to do treatment on my wrist and to get ready for my first round.
I was very calm during the whole day, until five minutes before my first shot. My heart started racing and my first two holes were definitely played with some nerves. Then, I started feeling comfortable on the course and the nerves completely disappeared.
I started my day with a great birdie and had three more on my front nine. I was hitting the ball well and not making too many mistakes. My last six holes were a little rough. I had some little mistakes that cost me four bogeys.
Overall I am very happy with the way I was hitting the ball. I stuck to my game plan and was confident with my decisions on the course. I am here to gain experience and embrace the opportunity. I definitely enjoyed my day and am very thankful for my coaches and teammates that cheered for me.
Tomorrow is another day to do my best and to have fun.
