It is coming down to the wire. We have two tournaments left to play this season.
First we go to our state championship in Miami. We play it at Don Shula's golf course; the tournament is always played at this course. A couple of the girls on the team played it last year, so we know what to expect. The main characteristic of the course is its large, undulated and very fast greens. It is always exciting to play the state championship because it is the only time we get to compete against all the teams in Florida. Florida State, Miami and Rollins are probably our toughest competitors. It is a three-day tournament and we usually stay at the course's hotel. Overall, it is a fun tournament to play.
After state we only have one tournament left: our Atlantic Sun conference championship. This is also a very exciting tournament. Stetson is the host this time and we play at Victoria Hills in DeLand, only 45 minutes away from UCF. We played the course in the fall, when we competed in Stetson's home tournament. It is a good course and low scores are definitely possible. Georgia State and Campbell will be the teams to look out for. Right now we are hoping the weather will be good. This past week, practice has been interrupted because of rain and thunderstorms.
In the fall the team had a couple of top finishes, but we have struggled this semester. However, it is all coming down to these two tournaments. It is crunch time, girls!
