The UCF women's golf team looks to continue its success next year with the addition of 2010 graduate Kaitlyn Price (Jacksonville Beach, Fla.). Price signed a National Letter of Intent on Friday to play collegiately for the Knights, head coach Courtney Trimble announced.
Price attends Providence High School and is currently ranked sixth in Florida for the class of 2010, and No. 278 nationally, according to the Golfweek/Sagarin Ratings.
In the 2008-2009 season, her lowest score was a 75 and had a season scoring average of 79.4. This summer she took first place at the Ponte Vedra Back to School Invitational and the Jacksonville Junior Golf Championship.
Trimble is positive Price's addition will help the team. "We are very excited to have Kaitlyn join the UCF women's golf team," the first-year head coach said. "She brings a lot of tournament experience and athleticism to our team. She is a great player and person and I look forward to her helping us build the program to become a national contender."
The Knights are coming off of a solid first fall season under Trimble, one in which UCF recorded a pair of top-three finishes as a team. Additionally, in each of the team's final three events, two Knights finished in the individual top 10 with four different Knights being amongst those top 10 finishers for at least one event.
