Camden, NJ (www.UCFAthletics.com) - - The 2008 sprint schedule officially came to a close on Saturday as the No. 5 UCF Lightweight 8+ boat rowed to a first-place finish in the Petite Final at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships Saturday, held on the Cooper River in Camden, N.J.

After racing twice on day one Friday, UCF overwhelmed its opponents No. 8 MIT and No. 9 Duquesne in the Petite Final with a time of 06:51.237. MIT would finish 17 seconds later with a time of 7:08.499, another 11 ahead of third-place Duquesne, 7:19.082.

The IRA Lightweight 8+ title was won by Wisconsin, who took the Grand Final with a time of 06:35.117).
