HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF women's soccer team opened its weekend road swing Friday by playing to a 0-0 double overtime draw at Marshall in Conference USA play at Sam Hood Field. The Knights (7-2-4, 2-1-2 C-USA) finished with a 23-9 shot advantage, but were unable to score on the road.
The match was the first of four-straight away from home for the Knights. UCF will conclude the weekend trip Sunday afternoon at East Carolina.
Marshall moved to 2-8-3 overall and 0-3-2 in league play following the tie.
The Knights had several chances to score late in the match, and totaled a combined eight shots during the overtime periods. Junior Nicolette Radovcic (Rockaway, N.J.) had a pair of shots on goal in the final extra session, but Marshall's Linsdey Kerns stopped both shots, including one with just under three minutes to play.
UCF held Marshall without a shot attempt during each overtime period.
Kerns recorded six saves for Marshall. Radovcic and sophomore Kristina Trujic (Venice, Fla.) each registered two shots on goal. UCF senior Aline Reis (Campinas, Brazil) totaled three saves.
Reis was one of three Knights who played all 110 minutes against the Thundering Herd. The Knights outshot Marshall 8-4 in the first half.
UCF's match at East Carolina will begin Sunday at 2 p.m. in Greenville, N.C.
