CINCINNATI, Ohio (UCFKnights.com) - The No. 19/21 UCF women's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to 10-straight games on Friday night with its 1-1 double-overtime draw at Cincinnati.
The Knights (10-2-2, 3-0-1) rallied from a 1-0 second-half deficit to maintain its best start to conference play since 2007.
The Bearcats capitalized in the 53rd minute when Emily Elsbrock connected for her first goal of the season off a cross that was inserted in the box off a double assist from Katy Couperus and Jae Atkinson.
Reigning American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week Lena Petermann came through for the Knights once again, receiving a ball inside the box from junior Alex Piercy to knot the score 1-1 In the 64th minute.
The Knights drew three corners in the last three-and-a-half minutes of the double-overtime session but couldn't find their way into the net.
UCF continues its road trip to Louisville on Sunday at 1 p.m. Both teams were selected as the preseason favorite in the American Athletic Conference preseason coaches' poll.
