ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The No. 18/21 UCF women's soccer team rallied with two second-half goals to top Rutgers, 2-1, Friday night at the UCF Soccer Complex.

With the win, the Knights (12-2-2, 5-0-1) gave their senior class a memorable present on Senior Knight - tying the 26-year-old school record for an unbeaten streak. Their 12-match stretch dates back to Sept. 1.

Rutgers got on the board in the 11th minute when Madison Teirnan played a ball into the box to Erica Skroski, who put one away to the far post for her second goal of the season.

The Knights turned up the intensity after the break. Jennifer Martin drew a foul about 25 yards outside of the box and set up for a free kick in the 62nd minute. It hit the upper back of the net to knot the score at 1-1.

"I felt the whole team pick up their energy afterward, myself included," Martin said. "It was that boost we needed. From there on out we controlled the game."

Roughly three minutes later, the Knights capitalized again off brilliant ball movement. Goalkeeper Lianne Maldonado punched out Rutgers' free kick attempt to Martin perfectly to start the breakaway down field.

Martin found Petermann with a one-on-one opportunity, and although the reigning American Rookie of the Week's shot hit the left post, classmate Kayla Adamek was there to rebound and notch the second game-winner of her career.

UCF holds its final home match of the regular season Sunday at 1 p.m. against former Conference USA rival Memphis.
