ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - UCF women's soccer forward Lena Petermann has been called up by Germany's U-20 National Team to participate in the Six Nations Tournament in La Manga, Spain.

Petermann, a native of Otterndorf, will compete under the direction of Maren Meinert, who is a three-time FIFA World Cup finalist and Olympic bronze medalist. Germany's slate consists of Norway (March 1), England (March 3) and Sweden (March 5) in the U-23 tournament.

This is not Petermann's first stint representing her country. She played in the 2010 and 2011 UEFA Women's U-17 Championships and the 2010 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.

Petermann had a memorable first season with the Knights, emerging as the American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year. She was named to the American All-Conference First Team, All-Rookie Team and All-Tournament Team while helping UCF clinch the league's regular season and tournament championship titles.
