ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Long-time UCF women's soccer assistant coach Donna Fishter has assumed the role of acting head coach following Amanda Cromwell's departure to UCLA. A national search is currently being conducted for the program's next head coach.
"We're thankful to have someone of Donna's experience and leadership capability to help guide our program though this transition," said David Hansen, senior associate athletic director and women's soccer sport supervisor. "We're committed to finding the right coach to direct this very successful program as UCF embarks on its next chapter."
Fishter has served as an assistant for 13 years and has been instrumental in UCF's sustained success. She has helped guide the Knights to four Conference USA regular season crowns, the 2012 C-USA Tournament championship, three Atlantic Sun Tournament championships and three A-Sun regular titles. UCF boasts 10 NCAA Tournament berths, including 2011's Elite Eight appearance, during her tenure.
In addition to her coaching duties, Fishter is the team travel coordinator and the architect of player development, leadership and team culture. She is also an adjunct instructor at UCF, primarily teaching for the College of Education (Sports & Fitness majors/minors).
