ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF women's soccer team received national attention on Tuesday by continuing to rank among the top 10 of two major polls.
The Knights are now ranked No. 9 in both the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and Continental Tire rankings and Soccer America rankings. The Knights held firm from last week's standing in the NSCAA and climbed one spot in Soccer America's poll. UCF is also ranked No. 2 in the NSCAA Central Region behind Oklahoma State, who is ranked third nationally.
UCF split its home-opening weekend with a loss to now-top ranked Florida State in front of the second-largest crowd in program history before Sunday's thrilling overtime win over 12th-ranked Miami. The Knights (3-1) are the only Conference USA team ranked and are the second-highest program in the state of Florida ranked in both polls.
UCF continues its four-game homestand next weekend when it hosts Dartmouth, USF and Georgia in the UCF Tournament. The Knights play Dartmouth on Friday at 7:30 p.m. following the USF-Georgia game set for 5 p.m.
Season tickets are available for UCF's remaining home games, beginning at $30. A complimentary soccer scarf comes with each purchase. The Gold Pass, which includes season tickets to all volleyball, men's and women's soccer, women's basketball, softball and track and field contests, is also available now.
