ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - Fresh off of two dominating wins last weekend, the UCF women's soccer team boosted its standing among the nation's top 25 in several major polls Tuesday.
The Knights (10-2-1, 3-0-0) rose three spots in the NSCAA national rankings to No. 21 thanks to its best start to conference play since 2007. UCF returned to the NSCAA national top-25 on Oct. 1 after receiving votes for four weeks. UCF previously had been ranked every week from Dec. 6, 2011 - Sept. 3, 2013.
Soccer America listed UCF at No. 19 (a jump of three spots from last week) while Top Drawer Soccer bumped up the Knights one spot to No. 23.
They are the only American Athletic Conference program among the top 25 in any of the polls. Virginia is the NSCAA's No. 1 followed by UCLA, Florida State, North Carolina and Stanford in the top five.
UCF moved up in the RPI rankings, as well, to No. 12 on Monday from last week's No. 14. The standings rate more than 325 teams based upon their wins, losses and strength of schedule. UCF is only behind No. 7 FSU among teams in the state of Florida.
The Knights also currently rank among the top 20 teams in the country for several statistical categories. Here's the breakdown:
