ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The No. 19/21 UCF women's soccer team travels for the first time since Sept. 19 looking to keep their league-best unbeaten streak rolling when they meet Cincinnati and Louisville for the first time in program history this weekend.
The Knights (10-2-1, 3-0-0) take on the Bearcats (6-8-0, 2-2-0) first at 4:30 p.m. Friday before continuing on to Louisville (8-3-1, 4-0-0) on Sunday at 1 p.m.
UCF looks to sustain the momentum of its nine-match unbeaten streak that has been fueled by outscoring its opponents 28-5 during the stretch.
Mackenzie Reynolds leads Cincinnati in goal scoring with three, including two game-winners. Prior to their most recent outing - a 2-1 loss at SMU -- the Bearcats pulled out wins over Memphis and Houston.
Sunday's matchup will be one of the American Athletic Conference's top showdowns of the year as UCF and Louisville were tabbed as the preseason favorites in the preseason coaches' poll, tying with 85 points apiece.
The two squads both rank among the top 15 nationally for scoring offense and claim reigning players of the week as the Cardinals' Chelsea Hunter was singled out for her defensive work and the Knights' Lena Petermann was recognized as the Rookie of the Week for the third time this year.
Senior Charlyn Corral leads the charge for Louisville with 11 goals and 27 points, standing among the top-20 players nationally in both categories.
