ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - UCF senior captain Marissa Diggs was chosen as the American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Diggs played every minute of action this weekend in the Knights' victories against Rutgers and Memphis, helping UCF break the 26-year-old unbeaten streak school record (13). The Rowlett, Texas, native came up with a goal-line save against the Tigers late in the second half, limiting them to just one goal for the match.

UCF has the lowest goals allowed total in The American, only letting in 11 to date.

Monday's award marks Diggs' second weekly honor of the season, as she also earned the distinction Sept. 16.

Midfielder Jennifer Martin and freshman Kayla Adamek were recognized, as well, earning nods to the conference's honor roll.

The Knights boast a league-best nine player of the week awards this year as Lena Petermann (rookie, Sept. 9, Sept. 23, Oct. 7, Oct. 14) has been recognized along with junior Carleigh Williams (defensive, Aug. 26 & Sept. 23) and junior Tatiana Coleman (offensive, Sept. 9).

UCF has a chance to clinch the regular-season conference title this coming weekend when the team travels to Houston on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET before the regular season finale Sunday at 2 p.m. at SMU.
