ORLANDO, Fla. ( - As the UCF women's soccer team continues its quest for another conference championship title, the Knights (16-2-2) continued to receive praise in the national polls Tuesday.

UCF stayed steady at No. 17 in the NSCAA top 25, matching its best ranking of the 2013 season. Meanwhile, the Knights rose to No. 12 in both the Soccer America and Top Drawer Soccer polls.

UCF returned to the NSCAA national top 25 on Oct. 1 after receiving votes for four weeks. The team previously had been ranked every week from Dec. 6, 2011 - Sept. 3, 2013.

UCF is the only American Athletic Conference program among the top 25 in any of the standings. Virginia is the NSCAA's No. 1 followed by UCLA, Florida State, North Carolina and Florida in the top five.

UCF is also listed at No. 12 in the RPI rankings , which rates more than 325 teams based upon their wins, losses and strength of schedule.

UCF goalkeeper Lianne Maldonado ranks 17th in the nation for goals-against average. Furthermore, the Knights stand among the top 20 teams in the country for several statistical categories. Here's the breakdown:

The No. 1 seeded Knights will host their American Championship semifinal matchup at 5 p.m. Friday against USF. The winner will advance to face the victor of Friday's 7:30 p.m. semifinal matchup between No. 7 Memphis/No. 3 Rutgers in Sunday's title game at the UCF Soccer Complex at noon on ESPNU.
