UCF Women's Soccer Earns NSCAA Team Academic Award

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The UCF women's soccer team was honored with the NSCAA Team Academic Award in recognition of earning a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2012-13 academic school year. The 2013 American Athletic Conference regular season and tournament champions combined for a GPA of 3.23.

It marks the fifth straight year UCF has earned recognition from the NSCAA for its efforts in the classroom.

The Knights finished the 2013 season by making their seventh-consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament. During the year, they set a school-record unbeaten streak (18 matches), ran through conference play undefeated for the first time since 1999 and earned a league-best 10 conference honors, including Coach of the Year (Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak), Rookie of the Year (Lena Petermann) and Defensive Player of the Year (Marissa Diggs).
