HOUSTON, Texas (UCFKnights.com) - With inclement weather in the Houston area, the No. 1 seeded UCF softball team has to wait till Saturday to face No. 5 Rutgers in the semifinals of the American Athletic Conference Championship. The contest is set to be played at 4 p.m. ET on ESPN2.

The tarp was placed on the field just before the heavy rain came, while the teams were warming up.

The winner of the contest is scheduled to play on Sunday at 11 a.m. ET against No. 3 Louisville, who posted an 8-0 six-inning victory over No. 2 USF.

UCF (40-15) moved onto the semifinals after hitting a school-record five home runs in a 6-0 win against No. 8 UConn. Junior third baseman Farrah Sullivan and sophomore outfielder Mariah Garcia each blasted a pair of home runs.

Rutgers (28-18) knocked off No. 4 Houston, 5-1, on Friday. A grand slam by Alexis Durando proved to be the difference in the nightcap of the quarterfinals.
