ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF players recorded many impressive individual pitching performances during the 2012 season. Several Knights had big contests in the circle during the season as UCF had the No. 1 ranked pitching staff in Conference USA.

Here is a look at the top individual performances of the year:

Honorable Mention

•             Mackenzie Audas vs. Tulsa: 7 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 9 K

•             Alex Hartshorn vs. Iona: 7 IP, 7 H, 1 R (0 ER), 0 BB, 5 K

•             Ali Schmidt vs. Eastern Michigan: 7 IP, 5 H, 2 R (1 ER), 0 BB, 12 K (career-high)

•             Mackenzie Audas vs. Kent State: 7 IP, 3 H, 1 R (0 ER), 2 BB, 14 K (career-high)

•             Ali Schmidt vs. Georgetown: 7 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 5 K

•             Mackenzie Audas at North Florida: 7 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 12 K

5. Alex Hartshorn vs. Eastern Michigan

With UCF trailing 6-2, Hartshorn came out of the pen for the first time in her career and delivered five scoreless innings of relief. Hartshorn kept the Knights afloat by allowing just two hits and striking out five. UCF eventually rallied with six runs over the final four innings to earn an 8-6 come-from-behind victory.

4. Mackenzie Audas at UAB

With the Knights down two games to none in the weekend series, they needed a big performance from Audas to salvage the final game on Sunday. Audas came through in a big way by tossing eight strong innings and allowing just one hit and no runs with one walk and 10 strikeouts as the Knights took the final game 1-0. Audas had a no-hitter going into the seventh, but lost it as the Blazers dropped a bloop single into center.

3. Ali Schmidt vs. Houston

Ali Schmidt got two starts on Senior Weekend and put up her most clutch performance of the season in her first showing against the No. 1 hitting lineup in C-USA. Schmidt, who worked very quickly, allowed just four hits and no runs while striking out two as the Knights defeated the Cougars 4-0. The game took just one hour and fifteen minutes, making it the fastest game of the season for the Knights.

2. Mackenzie Audas at Bethune-Cookman

Audas made history against the Wildcats on May 5 as she became just the sixth pitcher in school history to pitch a no-hitter. The standout performance was the first for the Knights since Allison Kime pulled off the feat in March of 2008. Audas pitched seven innings and only allowed two walks and one hit-by-pitch while striking out 11. On the year, Audas pitched a total of four one-hitters before finally breaking through with the first no-hit performance of her young career against the Wildcats.

1. Mackenzie Audas vs. No. 3 Florida

The Knights’ top pitching performance of the year of came in the biggest game of the season. The nationally-ranked Gators came into the contest ranked in the top 15 in the nation in every major offensive statistical category. Audas delivered her best performance of the season in front of the largest home crowd of the year, an announced 747, as she allowed just two singles and no runs to go along with 11 strikeouts. The Gators did not advance a single runner past second base throughout the entire game.
