Golf Tournament Registration
ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF softball team will put on its first ever Celebrity Golf Tournament Monday Jan. 30, at the Tuscawilla Country Club in Winter Springs. All proceeds will go towards the UCF Softball program's team costs.
The tournament will feature former Major League Baseball player Gary Sheffield. Registration for the event begins at 10 a.m. and with a shotgun start at 11 a.m.
Sheffield is a nine-time MLB All-Star who played for 10 teams since signing with the Milwaukee Brewers in the amateur draft in 1986 and ending his career with the New York Mets in 2009.
The event will showcase many MLB stars, local Orlando celebrities, UCF alumni, coaches and other professional athletes. Individuals or teams that sign up will get the opportunity to bid for a chance to play with high-profile celebrities in their group.
Teams are limited to four players which can include a celebrity or professional athlete. The cost per team varies depending on whether there is a local celebrity or coach ($600), or famous athlete ($1000) on the team. Individual golfers are $100 each. Teams of four with no professional athlete or local celebrity will only cost $380.
After the golf portion of the event, there will be a dinner banquet at 4 p.m. followed by a silent auction and the "Chance to Win" drawing at 5 p.m.
Individuals or groups can also become sponsors of the event by purchasing one of three packages that range from $50 to $500. A bronze package costs $50 and includes a regular sponsorship hole sign. A silver package costs $100 and includes a special golf ball sponsorship hole sign and three "Chance to Win" tickets. A gold package costs $500 and includes a golf ball sponsorship hole sign, one autographed MLB item of choice, and an invitation to the dinner banquet.
