Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF softball coaching staff invites girls in grades 4-12 to join them for the UCF Softball Winter Clinic Dec. 10-11. The camp will take place at the UCF Softball Complex on campus, and will feature both pitching and hitting sessions. Cost of participating is $100 and space is limited to 25 players.
For those in grades 4-8, the clinic is set to take place 5:30-8:30 p.m. both days. For athletes in grades 9-12, it will occur 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 10 (Please note, dates and times have been updated). UCF assistant coach Tracy Riepenhoff, along with some of the top pitching coaches in the area, will lead the pitching session. Fundamentals will be stressed, while players will get introduced to the art of spin pitches. Drill work also will help improve speed and control.
UCF assistant coach Beth Watson and Golden Knight alumni, including National Pro Fastpitch player Stephanie Best, instruct the hitting session by taking players through the phases of hitting. They will also introduce drills that help make athletes become better hitters.
All participants in the clinic will have the opportunity to meet personally with the staff to go over their individual mechanics, and learn first-hand how to develop their game.
To register, please visit www.centralfloridafastpitchcamp.com, or call Riepenhoff in the UCF softball office at (407) 823-4298.
