ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Getting ready to enter her 10th season as head coach of the UCF softball team, Renee Luers-Gillispie announced Wednesday that four prep standouts and a junior college transfer will be joining the Knights for the 2012 season. Mackenzie Audas (Plant City, Fla.), Blaire Kelley (Ocala, Fla.), Alena Murgatroyd (Lancaster, Calif.), Kahley Novak (Clermont, Fla.) and Brooke Scott (Broken Arrow, Okla.) will all make their way to Orlando to play for the Black and Gold.

"I am very excited to announce our 2012 recruiting class," Luers-Gillispie said. "I believe that these players know what it takes to win and understand the expectations of this program, both on and off of the field. The addition of these student-athletes will not only serve to aid in our continued success as a team, but I believe that they will also play a key role in taking our program to the next level in the coming years."

Luers-Gillispie added two pitchers and three position players to the squad in her 2012 recruiting class, which includes a pair of all-state selections.

Athletic Accomplishments
-Played for head coach Heidi Kouveras at Plant City High School
-Named to the All-Hillsborough County First Team following her junior season
-Honored with a spot on the All-Western Conference Federal Division Second Team in both 2009 and 2010
-Posted a 13-6 record, 1.05 ERA and 228 strikeouts as a junior in 2010
-As a sophomore, posted a 7-2 record on the mound with a 0.80 ERA, 118 strikeouts and only 16 walks
-Also batted .347 with 25 hits, 20 runs, 17 RBI and a team-best 10 extra-base hits
-Earned her team's all-academic award
-Played travel ball for the Gold Coast Hurricanes

-Has one brother, Nicholas

Blaire Kelley

Athletic Accomplishments
-Played for head coach Jeff Schweitert at Trinity Catholic
-Named to the All-Marion County First Team in both 2010 and 2008
-Went 9-7 in the circle with a 0.59 ERA on her way to being named her team's MVP as a junior
-Led the county with 163 strikeouts and five saves
-At the plate, hit .418 with 16 RBI and 26 stolen bases in 2010
-As a freshman, hit .471 with 20 RBI at the plate, while boasting a 13-6 record, 1.66 ERA and a county-leading 240 strikeouts in the circle
-Was also a member of the women's soccer team
-Played travel ball for the Hatters Gold

-Born on June 2, 1993
-Daughter of Patricia and Daniel Kelley
-Has two sisters, Murial and Danielle

Alena Murgatroyd

Lancaster, Calif. (Quartz Hill HS/Antelope Valley College)

Athletic Accomplishments
-Played for head coach Cindy Vargas at Antelope Valley College
-Was named to the All-Foothill Conference First Team in 2010
-Boasted a .375 batting average with 43 runs scored, 28 RBI, six home runs and 11 stolen bases in her first season
-Also earned the Marauder Award as a rookie, awarded for work ethic and being a team player
-As a senior at Quartz Hill High School, was an ESPN Cal-Hi Sports All-State selection and an All-CIF Southern Section selection
-Honored with a spot on the LA Daily News Greater San Fernando Valley All-Region First Team
-Was also an All-Golden League First Team and Antelope Valley All-Star selection in 2009
-Voted her team's MVP after setting school records for batting average, RBI and home runs in her final campaign
-Garnered the Distinguished Athlete Award from the United States Marine Corps

-Was named the Lake County Player of the Year as a junior
-Selected to the Metro All-Conference Team, the Orlando Sentinel All-Central Florida Team and was the Bright House Sports Networks Co-MVP in 2010
-Earned the team's defensive MVP award as a junior after posting a .950 fielding percentage with 93 assists at shortstop
-Hit .509 with 54 hits, seven doubles, three triples, 13 RBI and 56 runs scored in 2010
-Was named her team's MVP in 2009 after hitting .547 with 47 hits, six doubles, three triples and 43 runs scored
-Holds the Kissimmee Classic Prep Softball Tournament record for batting average (.833)
-As a rookie, led her squad with a .465 batting average and 24 stolen bases
-Played travel ball for the South Florida Mini Bulls

-Daughter of Patricia and Thomas Novak
-Has three sisters, Coryn, Nikki and Brooke
-Her father, Thomas, played baseball at UCF before going on to play with the Houston Astros and Cincinnati Reds

Athletic Accomplishments
-Played for head coach Randall King at Broken Arrow High School
-Led her team to back-to-back Oklahoma Class 6A Softball Championship titles in 2008 and 2009
-In her final campaign, hit .433 with a school-record 48 RBI and 30 runs scored
-Named to the all-state and all-region teams in 2010
-Was an all-conference selection all four seasons at Broken Arrow
-Posted a .308 batting average with 20 RBI and 22 runs scored in 2009
-As a sophomore, hit .313 with 19 RBI and 18 runs scored
-In her rookie season, posted a .981 fielding percentage at second base
