ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Leading the UCF women's tennis team to its 17th-straight season of at least 11 victories, junior Elvira Serrot and freshman Jenny Frisell were both honored with spots on the 2008 All-Conference USA postseason teams announced by the league Tuesday. Serrot was selected to the All-C-USA Second Team, while Frisell was voted onto the All-C-USA Third Team.

Earning her second-consecutive second-team accolade, Serrot capped off her campaign with an 8-1 record at No. 2 singles and a 16-14 combined mark. A native of Madrid, Spain, she won six-straight decisions to complete the year, and was the C-USA Player of the Week on March 25. In doubles, Serrot and Jennifer Carati went 19-6 as a tandem, winning 12-consecutive matches to close the 2008 season. Overall, Serrot was 22-7 in doubles action.

In just her first year at the Division I level, Frisell completed the season playing at the No. 1 singles position, collecting a 6-2 mark at the top spot and a 17-9 record overall. The native of Prolunda, Sweden, won her first five career matches in the fall, while she partnered with Kyla McNicol in doubles for a 12-9 record. Frisell also teamed up with Carati as they went 4-1 together.

UCF posted a 12-9 team record, including a first-round victory over Memphis at the C-USA Championships. The Knights went 7-3 at home, and had a 57.8 singles winning percentage, along with a 66.7 doubles winning percentage in head coach Stephanie Nickitas' first year at the helm of the UCF program.
