GAINESVILLE, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Several members of the No. 6 UCF track and field team set personal bests at the Gator Invite on Sunday at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center in Gainesville, Fla.

"We all talked about making progress and getting better every time we step on the track," assistant coach Paul Brownsaid. "That's what our focus is and by and large what we executed this weekend. We have some work to do but we have our eyes set on doing our best when it counts."

Senior Ashley Bollingset a personal best in the 55 Hurdles with a time of 8.06 for sixth place, which accounted for the Knights' best placing of the day.

Eva Pierce ran a personal best 59.72*in the 400 Meter. After topping her personal best in the 55-Meter preliminaries with a time of 7.17, junior Amanda Lelandshaved off even more time in the finals to record a personal best 7.13 for 10th place.

In her first collegiate 3000 Meters race, freshman Shelby Blaes paced the Knights with a time of 10:55.48* for 17th place. Freshman Teresa Hufffinished not far behind at 11:02.84*.

Three UCF freshmen improved their times from last week's 800-meter race. Emmy Brandehoff clocked 2:21.40* for the Knights best showing in the event. Amelia Williams followed at 2:21.60* and Cody Castillorecorded 2:22.07*.

Coming up, the Knights head to Lexington, Ky., on Friday and Saturday for the Rod McCravy Memorial.
