WALNUT, Calif. - UCF track & field sophomore Briana Vaughn posted the top time of 11.38 (+1.6) in the 100 meters on Friday at the Mt. SAC Relays at Hilmer Lodge Stadium. The Decatur, Ga., native finished seventh in the 200 meters with a personal best of 23.58 (+1.0).

Classmate Christal Peterson also eclipsed a new career-best with a 11.69 mark in the 100 meters, while a time of 11.78 was registered by freshman J'Nea Bellamy to finish at 22nd for the Knights. The top time and personal best in the event by Vaughn was recorded in the first of nine sections.

A wind-aided 23.89 (+3.0) time in the 200 meters was recorded by Peterson, which was the fastest time in her career. Bellamy was also a top 25 finisher in the event with a 24.18 (+1.0).

With three top marks on the outdoor season already set, juniors Devinn Cartwright and Sandy Jean bumped the total to five in the 100 and 400 hurdles, respectively. Cartwright posted a personal-best mark of 13.90 (+1.6), while Jean notched a time of 59.92.

A 16th-place finish was tallied by senior Erica Winston at 2:08.35 in the 800 meters, while sophomore Caroline Pauls crossed the line at 2:12.25, which was one-hundredth of a second from tying her career-best.

Rounding out the running events for UCF was junior Amelia Williams with a 4:41.01 in the 1500 meters.

In the field events at the Mt. SAC Relays, sophomore Kalen Hambrick threw the hammer a distance of 54.83/179-11 for 16th place, while a mark of 51.78/169-10 was recorded by senior Destinee Romain. Sophomore Allison Lampert tallied a high jump of 1.65m/5-05.00.

Finishing up the Bryan Clay Invitational for the Knights at Cougar Stadium in Azuza, Calif., was Siaina Campbell with a throw in the javelin of 37.26m/122-03. Romain and Hambrick competed in the meet on Thursday.

The Knights finish up the Mt. SAC Relays on Saturday beginning with the 4x100 relay team at 4:37 p.m. Eastern. UCF also competes in the Beach Invitational in Norwalk, Calif., which starts with Campbell in the Javelin at 1 p.m. Eastern.
