NORWALK, Calif. - The UCF track & field team finished the Mt. SAC Relays and Beach Invitational on Saturday to complete a stretch of three meets in as many days. Personal records were notched by freshman Siaina Campbell and junior Amelia Williams.
Campbell registered a personal best in the javelin of 41.01m/134-06, which topped the previous school and freshman records. The toss came at the Beach Invitational at Cerritos College.
Posting a career-best time of 2:12.40 in the 800 meters was Williams.
Continuing a fantastic weekend was sophomore Briana Vaughn, who finished second in the 100 meters invitational with a mark of 11.80 (+1.5). The run came a day after recording the top time of 11.38 (+1.5) in the same event at the Mt. SAC Relays.
Freshman J'Nea Bellamy came in fourth during the 100 meters invite at 11.92 (+1.5). A time of 12.15 (-1.6) was notched by sophomore Christal Peterson in the 100 meters final.
In the 400 hurdles, junior Sandy Jean tallied a time of 1:01.65.
As a part of the field events, sophomore Allison Lampert eclipsed a height to 1.60m/5-03.00 in the high jump. A 12th-place finish was tabbed by senior Destinee Romain in the shot put with a throw of 12.84m/45-05.00.
To conclude the Mt. SAC Relays, senior Jen Clayton competed in the long jump, where she finished ninth with a mark of 6.05m.
The Knights return to the Sunshine State on Saturday to compete in the North Florida Invitational in Jacksonville.
