ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - UCF Track and Field Assistant Coach Johnny Gray owns the 600 meter world record. Duane Soloman, one of the athletes that Coach Gray trains is going to try and break his mentor's record on Saturday at the UCF Invitational.

Coach Gray posted the world's best mark in 1986 with a time of 1:12.81 that still stands today. Soloman broke the American indoor 600 meter record in 2013 under the guidance of Coach Gray with a 1:15.70 at the Glasgow International Match.

The 600 meter race is set for 6:40 p.m. at the UCF Track and Field Complex. The joint men's and women's meet has USF, Rhode Island and FIU as participating teams along with a number of club teams.

Senior Day is set for Saturday at the UCF Invitational at 2:30 p.m. Afia Charles, Jen Clayton, Destinee Romain and Erica Winston are going to be honored for their careers.
