Faces in the Crowd

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) – For the second time in 2013, a UCF track and field speedster has been singled out by Sports Illustrated in its long-running “Faces in the Crowd.”

UCF’s most decorated All-American, Aurieyall Scott, will appear in the Aug. 5 issue of Sports Illustrated.  "Faces in the Crowd" highlights standout amateur athletes and has been published every week in the publication since 1956.

Scott was selected after nabbing Team USA’s first gold medal (100M) at this year’s World University Games in Kazan, Russia. She also helped the 4x100 relay team earn silver, running the second leg.

Octavious Freeman was selected for Faces in the Crowd in Sports Illustrated’s April 29 issue earlier this year after her world-leading 100M at the Florida Relays and world-leading 200M at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational.

During her junior season at UCF, Scott became the school’s first NCAA champion (60M) and won four medals and helped her team to two top-five team finishes at the NCAA indoor and outdoor championships. She owns 14 career All-American distinctions.
