ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Members of the UCF volleyball coaching staff are keeping busy over the summer, as head coach Todd Dagenais and his crew have been appointed to serve in a coaching capacity for numerous levels of USA Volleyball.
"It is an honor to be selected to help USA Volleyball in all levels of development," Dagenais said. "It is a tribute to the hard work and dedication of our staff to be selected by USA Volleyball to aid in the development of the sport's elite athletes."
Dagenais has been selected as the head coach of the USA Women's Junior A2 National Team, which consists of the top 40 high school juniors and seniors in the country, for the summer of 2010. Dagenais and his squad will train for five days before competing in the High Performance Championships in Wisconsin Dells, Wis., beginning July 26.
Assistant coach Michelle Chatman is set to serve as an assistant coach for the National Select Developmental Team which is comprised of several of the top 14U players in the nation, while fellow assistant coach Erik Peterson has been appointed an assistant coach for the Florida Region Youth National Team.
Also serving a role for USA Volleyball this summer is the Knights' volunteer assistant Tyler Adams, who was chosen to be the technical assistant for the USA A2 National Team. As the technical assistant, Adams will be in charge of coordinating video and statistics for the squad, which consists of the top collegiate players in the country.
Lastly, former UCF standout and All-Conference USA Second Team selection Erin Campbell earned an internship with USA Volleyball in its athletics communications office for the summer.
