ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The Venue at UCF was the setting for the beginning of another exciting season of UCF volleyball. Media members met with the coaches and players of the 2013 Knights as they get set to begin their inaugural season in the American Athletic Conference.

Head coach Todd Dagenais, entering his sixth year at UCF, addressed the media first before the Knights got individual head shots and a series team photos taken. Once that was completed, the student-athletes met with the media for interviews.

"We have five new players this year and that's as big of a turnover as we've had in a long time," Dagenais said. "However, we're returning a lot of key starters so we don't expect the maturation process to take that long. The administration has made a huge commitment to us. We have our own facility where we can practice whenever we want. Frankly, everything is in place for us to be able to be successful. It's on us now. We just have to get to work and get it done."

Photo day is typically the first opportunity to meet the new players on the Knights' roster. Freshmen Taylor Wickey, Sarah Nemes, Taylor Gallart and Shelby Foyer as well as junior transfer Jade Hayes got their first official UCF pictures. With so many fresh faces, the onus falls on upperclassmen like junior middle blocker Delaina Sarden to show the new players the ropes and also provide valuable leadership.

"This year is really the moment we've all been waiting for," junior middle blocker Delaina Sarden said. "We want to be the team that puts UCF volleyball on the map. I think we can definitely carry over the momentum from the end of last season. We just need to continue to increase our sport IQ and keep working hard."

The Knights play 17 home matches this season with a general admission season ticket costing just $30. Each season package comes with one premium t-shirt and offers significant savings over the single-match price.

For fans that want more sports, UCF is offering the 2013-14 Gold Pass. With a $90 purchase of each 'Gold Pass' you receive one general admission season ticket to the following UCF regular season home events: Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer, Volleyball, Softball, Track & Field, and Women's Basketball.
