BOCA RATON, Fla. – The UCF men's soccer team ended its exhibition slate on a high note as three second-half goals powered the Knights to a 3-0 win over FAU.
Nobody found the back of the net in the first half despite the Knights peppering the FAU keeper with shots. The Black and Gold wasted no time out of the break as Lucca Dourado tallied a goal in the 47th minute.
Mauricio Villalobos Vega found the back of the net in the 65th minute, scoring a goal on his birthday and doubling the Knight lead to 2-0. Lucas Mauro added an additional score in the final moments of the game, netting a beautiful free kick with 1:40 left on the clock to reach the final score of 3-0.
The Knights finish their preseason campaign with a 2-0 mark, outscoring opponents 10-2 in the process. They earned a 7-2 win over Stetson on Aug. 14 before heading into Boca and coming away with another victory over the Owls.
UP NEXT
UCF will begin their regular season campaign in less than as a week as they're set to host FIU on Aug. 26 at 6 p.m. at the UCF Soccer Complex.
