ORLANDO (UCFKnights.com) – Thanks to the generosity of Jim and Julia Rosengren, the brand-new Field Cabanas and the J&J Rosengren Lounge at Spectrum Stadium officially opened prior to the Knights' home-opener against FIU Thursday.

The eight Field Cabanas are located in the south end zone. Field Cabanas patrons also enjoy access to the air-conditioned J&J Rosengren Lounge, where they can cool off and enjoy additional food and drink.

The Rosengrens' $275,000 gift commitment allowed for the completion of the cabanas and lounge. The gift commitment covered the cost of construction for the new premium areas which gives UCF Athletics the opportunity to begin seeing positive revenue potential from the Field Cabanas immediately.

"It's a love affair we have with the University of Central Florida and we're happy to be a part of the UCF family," Jim Rosengren said. "It is just remarkable. Every time we come back, President Hitt has added something new to the University. It's just fun to be a part of it and support it."

The Rosengrens are no strangers to philanthropy, particularly at UCF. Jim Rosengren, UCF class of '81, made a $1 million commitment to support UCF RESTORES — UCF's PTSD clinic— in 2016. An Army veteran himself, the cause was close to his heart, especially after his son Josh returned after two tours in Iraq with severe PTSD, along with some physical wounds.

The Rosengrens have strong ties to the UCF College of Sciences, as Jim shares a vision of scientific research, cutting-edge treatment and education to train the next generation of health-care providers.

"Jim and Julia have been involved with the College of Sciences for some time and great benefactors to the institution on a variety of levels," said UCF Vice President and Director of Athletics Danny White. "We're fortunate to be the beneficiaries of their generosity here at UCF once again."
